Use of KGROUP.exe and KEXTRACT.exe

KGROUP.exe and KEXTRACT.exe are programs to compress or decompress files wwho are in Duke3D.grp, or an other .grp.
The command is simple to use: go in the directory od Duke Nukem 3D and type:

KEXTRACT File.grp File_to_extract   to extract files from File.grp, or:
KGROUP File.grp File_to_compress   to compress some files in File.grp.

For KEXTRACT and KGROUP, the command length is limited so use this command in a directory where there are only your files:
KGROUP File.grp *.voc *.map *.mid *.art ...

Advice: to use new ".GRP" easier, use a .bat file, that you will distribiute with your ".GRP".

If you begin with the level editor, use KEXTRACT Duke3D.grp *.*, or read this table to select files to extract.
 

*.ART	Most voluminous
*.MAP	The maps; you can open them with Build to understand how it works.
*.VOC	Sounds (weapons, monsters...)
*.MID	Musics.
*.TXT	Informations of the authors of the game.
*.CON	Fils of configuration
